PickMyScent earns a commission on some of the products we recommend. It doesn't change what we recommend. Here's the honest version.
An affiliate link is a special URL that tells a retailer we sent you. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale — typically between 3% and 10%. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you'd visited the retailer directly.
Once the site launches, we plan to use affiliate programmes with trusted UK fragrance retailers, which may include The Fragrance Shop, The Perfume Shop, Notino, The Whisky Exchange (for spirits-related content), and others. These relationships are managed through standard affiliate networks including Awin, CJ Affiliate, and Impact.
It doesn't. Our recommendations are built on fragrance data — notes, accord families, longevity, suitability for different occasions — and real user feedback. Not commission rates.
Specifically:
If we ever have a commercial arrangement that could influence a specific recommendation — a sponsored post, for example — we will label it clearly as such. We have no such arrangements at the time of writing.
Affiliate links on PickMyScent are disclosed in line with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidance. You will see disclosure notices:
Running a site like this costs money — hosting, domains, tools, and the time to curate and test fragrances properly. Affiliate commissions pay for that, so we don't have to sell banner ads, pop-ups, sponsored "best of" lists, or your data. That's a trade-off we think is fair to both sides: you get a site that isn't cluttered or commercially compromised, and we get a way to sustain it.
If you ever think a recommendation looks commercially suspicious, or want to understand why a particular fragrance is on our list, email hello@pickmyscent.co.uk. We'll explain.
